In 2004, Southern Cross Tours, a pioneer in Patagonia, started this new scheme by which each and every visitor is invited to plant a tree, as a contribution to restore equilibrium in our badly damaged atmosphere.

We feel that, if thousands of travelers plant trees in vast, uninhabited, dry places like Patagonia, we will be, somehow, making up for the thousands of trees that are felled elsewhere.

We also hope that other tour operators will follow our example and organize similar actions worldwide.

Then we will have a stronger reason to say that “touring pays”.
